How We Can Help

A non-diet approach is an approach to nutrition and health that focuses on improving overall well-being without focusing on weight loss or restrictive dieting. Instead of emphasising calorie counting, food restrictions, or a goal weight, it promotes a balanced relationship with food, respect for body diversity, and the pursuit of health at every size.

For children and families, this approach fosters a positive outlook on food and body image, which can help prevent disordered eating, yo-yo dieting and poor relationships with food in the future.

Our Approach

At WHAM, we take a non-diet, weight-inclusive approach to health. We recognise that true well-being is multi-dimensional and cannot be defined by a number on the scale. Instead of focusing on weight, we prioritise sustainable, health-promoting behaviours that support both physical and mental well-being.

We aim to foster a positive relationship with food by helping individuals move away from rigid food rules or “good vs bad” thinking. Food is not just fuel—it’s nourishment, connection, and enjoyment.

Our approach is rooted in intuitive eating, supporting individuals to reconnect with their body’s natural hunger and fullness cues and to develop trust in their internal signals over time.

We embrace body diversity and are committed to reducing weight stigma. Every person deserves respectful, inclusive, and non-judgmental care—no matter their size or background.

Rather than short-term diets, we focus on long-term, meaningful changes that promote confidence, reduce stress around food, and enhance overall quality of life.
