How We Can Help

Getting older doesn’t mean giving up on movement, it means finding new ways to stay strong, steady, and independent. Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or just wanting to feel more confident in your body, exercise physiology can help you keep doing the things you love. The benefit of doing this as part of a group means its more likely to stay interesting and creates a new place for you to socialise while you look after your body.

We support older adults to move safely and meaningfully, no matter their starting point. Group classes provide a gentle start to your strengthening journey while keeping costs lower to help you access exercise supervised by an Exercise Physiologist more easily.

It’s never too late to feel better in your body. We’re here to help you live life the way you want to, in this case, through strengthening your muscles, bones and connective tissues.

What We Support

Our strength classes primarily assist with

  • Age-related muscle and strength loss (sarcopenia)

  • Joint replacements (pre & post-op)

  • Arthritis and joint pain

  • Osteoporosis and bone health

  • Chronic pain and fatigue

  • Maintaining independence with daily tasks like walking, stairs, dressing, and housework

  • General strengthening

Our Approach

Through utilising a progressive overload program (a program that gets slightly more challenging each week!) we aim to increase your strength in a way that is fun and meaningful to you.

We will have exercises across your whole body with a mix of free weights and machine based exercises, that we will teach to keep you safe and ensure you are improving your strength steadily.

We want these classes to help you feel more empowered to complete tasks at home, out in your community and everywhere in between by ensuring your body has enough strength to complete the tasks at hand. We want to build confidence in your ability to exercise and utilise strength training as part of your everyday life, not just to improve your health and chronic conditions, but also to ensure you stay as independent and dignified as possible as you age.
